Our 2 days and 2 nights sailing trip around the Whitsunday Islands

The Whitsunday Islands consists of 74 islands, which offer unique beaches, crystal clear waters, coral reefs, beautiful forests and many more. Almost every isle is part of the Whitsunday Islands National Park.

Whitehaven Beach

The Whitehaven Beach is one of the most beautiful and whitest beaches on earth. The beach is located on the main island - the Whitsunday Island. It is a very lonely beach, because it is inaccessible by car or by foot.

The water at Whitehaven Beach was full of harmless dark stingrays

Video of Whitehaven Beach

Please note that the following pictures were not taken by me, but by our sailing boat skipper, who was kind enough to provide us with some of his aerial photographs of Whitehaven Beach and a lot of underwater coral pictures. These pics show you what we have seen during our snorkelling trips at the Whitsunday Islands.

Cairns
In Cairns we hired one of the famous Jucy Cars for 8 days. With this car it was easy to visit the best places around Cairns.

Green Island (Great Barrier Reef)

Green Island is a very small island near to the Great Barrier Reef and a hot spot for snorkelling. We saw corals, stingrays, a lot of strange fishes, big sea turtles, blue sea stars and many more (but unfortunately we had no underwater camera).
